Day 2 of our Phoenix road trip--we shoot Marty Ceccarelli's '70 Camaro SS!
Last fall at the Scottsdale Goodguys show, we ran into Marty Ceccarelli and his awesome '70 Camaro SS. It's simplicity just doesn't do it justice, as every part of the car has had much work lavished on it. All that work was done by Heath Elmer Restorations in Mesa, AZ. We've featured several of Heath Elmer's creations before, but this one has to take the prize. We liked it so much, we set up a photo shoot with photographer Robert McGaffin at Falcon Field in Mesa this weekend.
Marty's car features a 630hp 427ci big-block Chevy with eight-stack IR fuel injection controlled by a FAST engine control system. The Camaro is a DSE catalog poster child--everything DSE makes (including front hydroformed subframe, quadralink four-link rear, mini tubs, and narrowed 9-inch rear axle) can be found on or in the car. Marty is an ex-boat racer who has decided to explore autocrossing, and he's gotten off to a great start with this killer machine. We'll be featuring it soon in PHR, but in the meantime check out our video of today's photo shoot on the PHR YouTube channel here!
