Derale now offers a transmission cooling pan for GM 700R4, 4L60, and 4L60E.
Heat build-up is the primary killer of transmissions, and excess temperature can destroy friction surfaces in the strongest, most expensive transmissions if that thermal energy is not dealt with up front. Moreover, modern transmissions with smaller, lighter components need even better heat management to fend of damage to critically small friction surfaces, and the GM 700R4/4L60 family of automatics is a great example. Derale now offers for this group of GM four-speed overdrive transmissions a cooling pan (part No. 14204) that features heavy-gauge steel construction, two quarts of extra fluid capacity, and patented turbulator cooling tubes to reduce fluid temperatures by 20 to 50 degrees. It also sports a two-stage heat-dissipating black finish, a 1/8-inch NPT temperature-sender port, and a magnetic drain plug with rubber/steel washer and pan gasket included.
