Ryan Fultz of Noblesville, Indiana won the 2011 PHR Photo Contest sponsored by Nitto, which we covered in our January 2012 issue. For his winning effort, Ryan won his choice of any set of tires in any type and size that Nitto makes. Well, Ryan finally got his tires in the size he wanted, and decided to tell us how he’s going to use them on his ’68 Chevelle (check out the photo). Turns out, the whole photo contest episode is part of Ryan’s grander plan to rework his Chebby for the autocross circuit. Here’s what Ryan told us:
“Here are a couple images for you. I recently sold my 12-bolt with C-clip eliminators and ordered a Strange S-60 after running across one of the previous installments of Project Olds where you guys installed one in Robert McGaffin’s car. The C-clip eliminators weren’t going to cut it if I really want to push it on the autocross. I ended up going with the Nitto Invo 275/35R18 and 295/35R18. Once I get my Boze Lateral-G wheels and rearend, I would like to send you a couple more images of the finished product. As a reader of PHR, I personally like to hear follow-ups to projects, and I think people would like to know and see what previous contest winners have done with the tires they won.”
We agree, Ryan. (And to any past winners, we’d love to hear from you, too!) Keep those updates coming, and thanks again for entering the contest, and shooting our January issue reader’s rides cover image.
