Speed tech Performance has just released the ultimate 9-inch rearend to pair with their torque suspension on '67-'81 Camaros and '68-'74 Novas
Designed as the ultimate 9-inch to use in conjunction with their Torque Arm Rear Suspension on ’67-’81 Camaros and ’68-’74 Novas, the Speed Tech Chicane 9-inch Floater incorporates the Corvette ZR1 rear drive hub and factory park brake kit along with a NASCAR style 9-inch housing with floating axles.
The housing end is CNC machined from billet steel, and the ZR1 drive hub uses a forged housing with dual bearing packs, 33 spline axles- and it even incorporates the ZR1 active wheel speed sensor.
That means it’s possible to add anti-lock brakes and traction control. Plus, since it’s a sealed system there is no regular maintenance, such as bearing cleaning and preload adjustment, required. It’s also one of the only Floater assemblies on the market that incorporates a parking brake which is mandatory for legal street operation.
