We get word from one of our competitors that he is ready for the PHR Muscle Car Of The Year Competition!
In less than three weeks, the staff of Popular Hot Rodding magazine will descend on National Trails Raceway to decide who has the most bitchin' Muscle Car in the land. We've scoured the country to invite 10 of the newest, fastest, most cutting-edge street machines around. These guys and their cars aren't show queens, they walk the walk, and talk the talk. They have promised to unleash the beasts in three deciding contests including a drag race, speed/stop course, and autocross. Fastest guy wins it all. For the record, here is the list of our warrior heroes:
1. Roadster Shop: ‘69 Camaro
2. Detroit Speed & Engineering: ’66 Mustang
3. Johnson’s Hot Rod Shop: ‘66 Nova
4. JCG Restorations: ‘69 Camaro
5. Jon Clark: ’68 Plymouth Valiant
6. YearOne/Kevin King: ’73 Turbo Trans Am
7. Kevin Miller: ‘69 Camaro
8. Bob Bertelsen: ’71 Camaro
9. Mike Coughlin: ’71 Vega
10. Ringbrothers: “The Producer” ’66 Mustang
We got word today from one of our competitors: Kevin King of Year One fame. Actually, we got no words--only this imposing photo showing his twin-turbo LS-powered '73 Trans Am posing amidst a few of his "leetle friends." Are the rest of our competitors ready? Would you like the chance to battle them? We have two more spots still open, and if you think you've got what it takes, bring it out to the Columbus Goodguys event the weekend prior. If we think you've got what it takes, you're in!
