For the past several months, PHR’s 1968 Nova project has been getting a complete suspension, brake, and steering transformation at Classic Performance Products in Anaheim, CA. We’ve covered most of the big changes from CPP in the pages of the magazine, with a couple more stories (steering and brakes) still in the hopper that are coming in the next few issues. With those jobs covered, we have moved the Nova to a new facility—Automotive Excellence of Huntington Beach, CA—where it will undergo its next phase of perfection. We chose Automotive Excellence because of their wide range of experience in repairing and fabricating muscle cars. We needed a shop that specializes in these cars, not a general repair shop that dabbles in them on the side, and the work coming out of Automotive Excellence spoke for itself. Alex Mayea of Automotive Excellence (in photo) will be taking over the build, and over the course of 2011 you’ll see him feature prominently in our print stories and in our Nova blogs.
If you live in the Orange County area, you’ll want to check out Automotive Excellence. If you ask Alex real nice, he’ll even let you check out our Project Nova! Stay tuned…
