May 31, 2010 is officially the last day dealerships can sell and advertise as a Pontiac dealership because at the stroke of midnight Pontiac Motor Division is officially relegated to the automotive history books.
To make the day less of a somber occasion, Jim Hallman, President of the Northern Illinois Fiero Enthusiasts is encouraging everyone with a Pontiac of any year production from 1926-2010 to help mark the passing by organizing Cruise Nights or Car Shows on June 1, 2010- the first day without Pontiac. “Drive your Pontiac to work, a car show, or to the golf course, it does not matter where, just enjoy it on this day, Jim stated on the Pontiac tribute Day Website. “We want Pontiac owners to relive the excitement that General Motors has supported since the inception of the Pontiac brand. This is our way of saying thanks to GM.”
They’ll even help get the word out for any Pontiac events; just the details and they’ll add them to the website. Also, The Fiero Enthusiasts are offering 37 x 3-inch graphic decals of any Pontiac model sized for rear windows to remind others of the loss.
