I’m taking a big gamble, but I’ve decided to load up the ’75 Laguna, and drive out to the 1st Spring Nationals in Scottsdale, AZ this weekend (March 12 – 14, Westworld of Scottsdale). This is the first time the Goodguys show has done a spring event in the Phoenix area, and I decided to make it a first of another kind—to make the Scottsdale Goodguys event the first “coming out” event for the Laguna. When we originally conceived our Laguna project, we wanted to make it into a highway hauler—so now I’m going to put my money where my mouth is, and drive it hard. I’ll be heading out Friday morning from the LA area, and hitting the I-10 interstate all the way to Phoenix. Now before you say it, we know that the Goodguys show in Scottsdale is a pre-’73 show, but we’re just willing to bet they’ll find someplace to park us in the manufacturer’s midway. If we’re feeling lucky, we may even try out the autocross! The power steering pump has been a little dicey lately, so we may pass on that in lieu of an uneventful drive home. We’ll also be looking for cars to feature in PHR, so we hope to see you there!
