Will this killer customized ’56 Chevy Pro-Touring car carve up the track in mind-bending fury, or will it just be more “propaganda”?
You may remember artist Chris Gray as the guy who penned our “Project Talladega” Laguna rendering. We’ve always liked Chris’s work, and he’s been involved with some very cool projects over the years, many of them with his employer, Marquez Design. Chris informed us that he’s just finished rendering a ’56 Chevy Bel Air that Marquez Design plans to have ready for the 2009 SEMA show. According to Chris: “It’s kind of a departure for us as muscle car guys, but with a serious Pro-Touring direction with the Marquez Design ethos applied.” The car is being created to merge two very distinct styles not often seen together. The performance, handling and horsepower of Pro-Touring, with the the tri-five Chevy body style. “Our aim with this car is to open up the Pro-Touring market beyond the realm of muscle cars,” writes Chris. The ‘56 will be heavily auto-crossed, but could we also see it do open-track duty?
