Back On Again...

Camaro Z/28

First it was on, then it was cancelled, now it's back on again. We're not holding our breath for the 2011 Camaro Z/28.

GM’s been changing CEOs like underwear, and this month we hear from several news sources that the fabled Z/28 is back on again, at least until the next Obama-installed CEO. This is one of those deals where we’ve been bitten so many times that we won’t believe it until we see it. Nevertheless, GM design chief Ed Welburn confirmed to Motor Trend editors during the Frankfurt Auto Show that the Z/28 program was back on track for a 2011 release. Whether it will have the supercharged, intercooled 6.2-liter V-8 from the CTS-V or something more watered down is still up for debate. Either way, we’re sure it will be priced well north of what mint-condition two-year-old Z06 Corvettes are going for right now.
