Headlights aren't just to see better at night.
I didn't really pay much attention to headlights being on or off in photos until I was enlisted by PHR to take some. I was really surprised to see the impact headlights, or parking lights, make in dusk light.
This photo is of me driving at the Milan Raceway NMCA event in Michigan a couple weeks ago. I received photos of most of the people I ran against, nearly all of them had their headlights off. My photo was by far the most impressive because of headlights. The lights have a really great look especially at the drag strip because the track surface is so reflective that you can see the headlights on the ground.
If it was more dark out of course the headlights would hide the car, but any time it's light, it doesn't hurt to turn at least your parking lights on. It gives the car more life.
