I've had my Smeding Performance 427 Windsor for months, now it finnaly goes in.
The last couple days I've been working over at D & P Chevy of Huntington Beach shoe-horning the big-small-block between the fenders. This motor is dimensionally much larger than the 302 the car could have come with, and definitely much wider than the 6-cylinder mine had. It's a tight fit. Working on my Camaro and other GM cars, I was spoiled by the ample room between the fenders and the engine. Even big-block Camaros have more room to work with than this '66 with a small-block.
I can tell already this is going to be a large source of future frustration, especially when it comes to header fitment.
