How did I go so long without a ladder??
I know it's not 100% car related, but it's exciting to me!
I was walking the aisles of the hardware store getting some supplies for some home improvement stuff when I saw her. I have been using a friend's 8-foot aluminum that might be post-war but I can't be sure. It's not he safest ladder I've used. I had the loaner ladder for a couple weeks and really should return it.
The ladder I had my sights on was a Werner 8-foot fiberglass ladder. I've spent most of my life buying the cheapest versions of things because that's all I thought I could afford. I've learned that it doesn't really work that way. Buying a quality item and having it last forever saves more money than buying junk that you have to replace. If something is twice as expensive it should last twice as long, right? Or at least be twice as good.
So to swing this blog in the direction of the automotive industry: buy the parts you want, not the cheapest ones that seem like they would work. You'll be much happier with the quality parts.
Also, ladders are good for washing big trucks like mine :)
