2000s Z06 Corvette

How do you pick the best year?

In 1953 Chevrolet rolled Corvettes into dealerships around the country for the first time. They probably didn't know what kind of following this model would bring, or how long it would last.

It's pushed itself though though every year since '53 despite plant strikes, oil crisis and economy luls.

So I ask now, what is the best year? If you asked me what the best year Camaro was, in my mind there are only a couple years to consider, but Corvettes have such different appeals though the years.

The early generations have a classic style that while high-performance in their day, are hard to get to fly around as the late-model versions do. Some love the big haunches of the '70s Stingrays while others like the subtle body lines of the saw-blade wheel '80s 'Vettes.

As far as performance goes, the newest model Z06 tops them all. It's performance is only barely outreached by some $100,000+ exotics.

So, depending on your style, your favorite year 'Vette can be totally different to another enthusiast.

What's your favorite year?
