A reader's reply to my August 2009 tech letter.
I'm always happy to hear from anyone with feedback about the contents of Popular Hot Rodding magazine. We don't have all the answers but we're determined to find them.
I got a letter several months ago asking advice on a set of headers for an SBC equiped '67 Chevelle. The engine had Brodix Track 1 heads which feature angle plugs and a raised port design. I got a P/N from Hooker but reader "Andy from Sacramento" wrote in after the magazine's release that he may try welding a Brodix flange onto these headers. He suggested calling SPD, Specialty Products Design, to get information on these flanges.
I visited their website, www.spdexhaust.com to check it out. They've got a lot of really awesome products including pre-bent tubing, built headers, flanges, clamps, collectors, and metal finishing supplies. It's the kind of place I would love to have a shopping spree!
