I'm learning a lot about E85...
I'm working on a special story involving E85, and have been researching quite a bit. That's one of my favorite things about tech stories; I'm forced to become an expert, or as close to one as I can, on a subject I might not otherwise explore. Here in California there aren't many E85 pumps, so my exposure to the alternative fuel is zilch.
Other parts of the country however, do have these pumps around and are converting their street cars to accept the alcohol/gasoline mix. So far I'm hearing overwhelming support of the corn-born carb feed, could this be it?
Is this the answer to our fuel shortage problem? Is there not enough talk about this new fuel? It seems like an easy enough swap over to E85, and it's easy and cheap to make. So what's the catch?
