This is a truly impressive book with lots of useful information.
There's no doubt the small-block Chevy is the most popular engine of all time. It's been around since 1955 and continues on today. More than 90,000,000 of these engines have been built; there in lies the problem, however. Though the years there have thousands of parts out of GM's plant.
This book helps sort out what's what. It includes over 25,000 part numbers, specifications, dates, and technical details covering every part of the small-block.
My favorite parts are the reference pages. They cover every small block produced from '68-'01 with bore, stroke, compression ratio, induction type, and horsepower specs. They also have a great diagram that shows the casting shapes on the front of the cylinder heads to help identify them.
I could go on forever about the features in this book, but there's just too much information.
The book retails for $24.99 US and is a 176-page paperback. This coffee-table status book comes out April 15, 2009, so once your taxes are done, relax and read up on the small-block! They are up for sale at Motorbooks.com and Amazon.com
