One more company shares our love for 1970s muscle!

It’s always a happy day at PHR central when we get news like this: Covan’s Classic Dash has just introduced its line of instrument panels for 1977 – ’79 Chevy Nova. We’re excited because we’re fans of the unloved ’70s cars, as witnessed by our ’76 Camaro (also with a Covan’s dash) and ’75 Laguna projects. The ’77-79 Nova makes good sense for a product like this: Chevy made 742,700 Novas and Concourses in that three-year period, and their instrument panels were shaped all alike. They make good hot rodding fodder too, due to their light weight.

If you’ve got a late Nova, Covan’s has your dash in carbon fiber, brushed aluminum (shown), or classic black. All Classic Dash panels are available without gauge openings, with gauge openings, or with complete gauges installed. Covan’s has 22 different styles of gauges from Auto Meter, Classic Instruments, and Dolphin Instruments. Complete dash assemblies for ’77-79 Nova start at $600.

Now we want to make our pitch to Covan, and let them in on the following little “secret”: The instrument panels for all Malibus, Lagunas, and Monte Carlos from 1974 to 1977 are all the same (’73 was different). Chevy built 2.6 million of them, and they were more than twice as numerous as Camaros. What do you say, Covan’s?
