It’s the dead of winter in the middle of a recession, so some of us must temporarily scale down our automotive activities. What better way to pass the time than build a killer car model from your youth? Our recent visit to Randy Ayers’ NASCAR model-building site (Randyayersmodeling.com) led us to one of the best sources for period model kits, including Model King’s reissue of AMT’s 1975 Laguna stock car kit (just $19.95 with Pay Pal). And whaddaya know, it’s got a big “12” on the side just like our lifesize real Laguna! Modelroundup.com has got everything you need: model kits, resin bodies, custom decal sets, paints, modeling tools, scale garage scene pieces, “aftermarket” parts, photo galleries of built kits, and pretty much everything that car mags offer, only in miniature. Besides the Laguna, there was a ton of other model kit, including the new Steve McQueen ’68 Bullitt Mustang and 2007 Dodge Super Bee from Revell.
