The power brokers at GM Performance Parts were at it again at the 21st Annual Performance Industry Racing trade show this week. Without waiting for the 2010 Camaro to hit Chevy dealerships, GMPP has announced they will be offering 2010 Camaro bodies in white (part No. 19243374) in 2009. These are unpainted, bare bodies with no power train, interior, glass, fuel system, suspension, or running gear. The basic package includes an assembled body structure, including the front fenders, hood, roof, doors, rear quarters and trunk lid. The structure also includes the complete floorpans and chassis rails. Lest you are tempted to build your own street-going Camaro out of one of these, note that the GMPP body in white does not have a legal VIN number, so is only intended for off-road use.
Pricing on the body in white has been set at $7,000, so if you plan on building a drag racer or road racer, the GMPP body in white will be way less expensive than a complete new car. For more information, log on to www.GMPerformanceParts.com
