Sometimes it seems like we’re fighting an uphill battle for the hearts and minds of hot rodders. To some, a mid-‘70s car just won’t cut it—but that doesn’t mean we’re not gonna try. Project Talladega is coming along nicely at Heath Elmer's Restorations, and one of the cool tricks we’re wooing readers with are these cool trunk pins. Note how we smoothed the trunk lock too—the trunk pins are what now holds the trunk closed. (As if a GM trunk lock was going to keep anybody out. At least we won’t have any screwdriver damage if we get ripped off.) An angle bracket was welded under the drip channel, and the pins—which we got from hoodpins.net—were attached to that. (Currently, this model of hoodpin is not on the hoodpins.net website, but you can contact them to get information.) These will match our custom spoilers, cowl vents, and quarter window block-offs nicely.
