The country’s biggest and richest dyno shootout will conclude at the Street Machine Summer Nats.

After making history last year in the inaugural DynoMax Power to the Wheels Dyno Tour, enthusiasts everywhere were waiting to see what (and who) would be competing in this year’s Power to the Wheels Championship Shootout.

The Power to the Wheels Dyno Tour tested the horsepower and torque of muscle cars outfitted with DynoMax exhaust systems and mufflers at more than 10 popular events across the nation this past spring and summer. After over 700 dyno runs, DynoMax has named the top five qualifiers for both of its competitive classes, Power-Adder and All-Motor. The top five qualifiers for each class have been invited to participate in the tour’s Championship Shootout next weekend (Sept. 12 – 13) in Springfield, Mo., during the Street Machine Summer Nationals. The first-place winner of each class will receive $6,000; the second-place winner of each class will receive $4,000; and the third-place winner of each class will receive $2,500. During the shootout, the Qualifiers will have two dyno runs to prove which DynoMax-outfitted car has the most horsepower.

The Power to the Wheels top five qualifiers in the Power-Adder class are:
1 – Danny Tyner, 1963 Ford Falcon, 1,778 HP
2 – Brian Anderson, 1964 Rambler Classic, 1,476.25 HP
3 – Brian Wall, 1967 Chevy Camaro, 1,333.45 HP
4 – Jim Plimpton, 1988 Ford Thunderbird, 1,312.45 HP
5 – Mark Gjavenis, 1965 300 Deluxe Chevelle, 1,249.54 HP

The Power to the Wheels top five qualifiers in the All-Motor class are:
1 – Darren Tedder, 1971 Plymouth Cuda, 900.21 HP
2 – Richard Burdette, 1969 Dodge Dart, 711 HP
3 – Jim LaRoy, 1972 Dodge Demon, 680.53 HP
4 – Scott Turner, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 548.01 HP
5 – Cory Gallus, 1998 Chevrolet Corvette, 534.16 HP
