Kevin England and Precision Autosports plan to hold the ultimate street machine Olympics in Florida this fall.

I recently got an email from reader Kevin England about a really neat event he plans on holding this October. It will combine drag racing, handling, braking, and fuel economy into one event that will attempt to crown the ultimate g-Machine of the land. Admittedly, it’s a bit tight on time for some folks living out of the Florida area, but we promised we’d get the word out so you can have the opportunity to plan ahead.

Currently, Kevin and the staff of Precision Autosports hasn’t pinned down the exact date, but they’ve got it narrowed down to October 19 or 26. Check out the details and contest rules below. If they can get 50 cars to sign up—everything is a go. We can’t promise it’s going to go off without a hitch, but we’re rooting for Kevin. If you’re interested, give him a call at 937-572-8574, or try Precision Autosports at 937-320-5950.

Ultimate Street Car Challenge Details

2008 location: Kil-Kare Speedway
Date: October 19 or 26, 2008
Entry fee: $100.00 per car
For registration or questions, contact Kevin England (937-572-8574) or Precision Autosports (937-320-5950)

Acceptable Vehicles

1. Competition will be limited to 50 vehicles.

2. Any vehicle that uses 4 commercially available DOT-legal tires with a minimum treadwear rating of 180, and a sufficient tread pattern suitable for use in wet road conditions. All competitors will only be allowed four tires for the entire competition. Any competitor with tires that have a treadwear rating less than 180 will be deducted 5 competition points per tire.

3. All vehicles must have current license, insurance, and registration (must be verified prior to competing).

4. All vehicles must pass a general safety equipment test (ie: all lights, horns, turn/hazard signals, rear view mirrors, and wipers).

5. All vehicles must run on 87 - 94 octane pump gas commercially available at any regular filling station. Any vehicle that tests with over 94 average octane will automatically be deducted 1 competition point per point of octane prior to competition. All competitors will purchase their own fuel.

6. All vehicles must pass NHRA, and SCCA/NASA tech inspections.

7. All competition vehicles must be operated by the same person's name that appears on the vehicle's registration, or a direct relative/spouse (ie; father, mother, brother, or sister). Each vehicle is only allowed one driver for the duration of the event.

8. Any vehicle that is using nitrous oxide must remove their bottle prior to their autocross runs.

9. All competition vehicles must be capable of 13.70-second 1/4 mile e.t. to meet the 100-mph limit for the zero-to-100-to-zero (z1z).

10. Any competition vehicle choosing to use nitrous will be limited to a maximum of one 15-pound bottle, with no refills.

Racing Format
1. No chase vehicles. Violators will be disqualified immediately!

2. No spare parts or repairs. Violators will be disqualified immediately!

3. Fuel economy
All competitors will converge at Kil-Kare Speedway. Then all competitors and one passenger will caravan to the nearest Sunoco fueling station to fill up tanks with the octane of their choice prior to a 100-mile cruise that will include city, highway, and country driving conditions. All competitors will re-converge at the same fueling station to be refilled with fuel by a third party with the volume of fuel recorded to determine the average fuel economy during the cruise. All local laws must be observed and obeyed. Any traffic violations during the cruise will result in immediate disqualification. The competitor with the highest observed fuel economy will receive 50 points, and the lowest will receive 1 point.

4. Autocross maximum five runs. Lowest e.t. will receive 50 points, highest e.t. will receive 1 point. Only one time slip will be accepted.

5. Quarter-mile drag strip maximum five runs. Lowest e.t. will receive 50 points, highest e.t. will receive 1 point, and highest mph is worth 10 bonus points to only one competitor. Only one time slip will be accepted.

6. z1z (zero to 100 to zero) maximum 5 runs. Shortest z1z distance will receive 50 points, and the longest distance will receive 1 point. The z1z distance will be a combined average of all 5 runs. All 5 z1z runs will be made back-to-back with no cool downs.
