It's hard to even imagine what I would do without the internet. It has virtually everything you need to know inside. I regularly bring my computer in the garage with me when I am working on my car in case I need a little extra information.

Forums are a great source. Though google search, threads from these message boards come up and you find others asking the same questions you have. It's also a great place to run ideas by others, and people with more experience can help you refine your ideas.

Not just  for searching for answers, forums are an easy way to get in touch with other people who share your interests. Just remember, there is a percent of these people who use the internet to express their negative feelings about things too, so be ready for some of that.
